“What does the Kaddish mean? Why do we even say it, anyway? And with the prayer for healing, what's that called … the Micha-mayrach (or whatever you call it), does God really hear our requests for healing?”
We all have a natural yearning to understand our prayers. Perhaps, we want to know their meanings. Perhaps, we want to know their spiritual underpinnings. Or perhaps, we just want to know why we even say them. To help you with your questions, I invite you to join me on a journey of exploration into Jewish prayer. I am teaching a three-part series beginning next Wednesday where we will discuss why we pray. We will also delve into the myriad of meanings behind some of our most well-known prayers like the Kaddish and our healing prayer, the Mi Shebeirach.
The entire series will utilize Zoom. Each part in the series will have an evening option (at 7:30 PM) and a lunchtime option (at noon). For the lunchtime option, it is my hope that people will consider joining us during their lunch breaks. Each session should last about an hour long. You do not need to attend all three parts of the series. Join us when you can.
The specific dates and times are included in the flyer below.
Please consider joining me on this fascinating journey.
